Messi’s debut at Inter Miami

First game, first goal, first win. Lionel Messi couldn’t start his adventure better with Inter Miami’s pink jersey. The Argentinian champions, who came on as a substitute in the 9th minute of the second half, changed the tide of the game, scoring a free-kick for his team to win the League Cup (2-1) against Mexican team Cruz Azul. Robert Taylor scored the opening goal for the locals before the break (44th). Sergio Busquets was also on the field with Messi for Miami.



Armed with the captain’s armband, Messi helped Cruz Azul draw thanks to Antuna’s goal (20′). But in the fourth minute of added time, he used one of his favorite shots and sent the ball into the top corner from a set piece, giving David Beckham’s side their first win in 11 games and thrilling the 18,000 spectators at Fort Lauderdale Stadium, who spent at least $160 and as much as $8,800 to watch the game.
