Wall Street got off to a good start after October inflation data rose 3.2% versus estimates of 3.3%. The Dow Jones +0.94%, the Nasdaq +1.7%. There is still an upswing on the European stock markets: Milan +1.30%, Paris +1.2%, London +0.30% Frankfurt +1.54%, also driven by the surprising increase in the Zew index.
The spread between Italian BTPs and German Bunds narrows sharply to 181 basis points, with the yield on our ten-year bond at 4.42%. Oil rises to over 83 dollars per barrel, gas falls to 46 euros.
