In the presence of the highest authorities of the military organs, the President of the Italian Paralympic Committee Luca Pancalli and Senator Isabella Rauti, Undersecretary of State for Defense and responsible for the promotion and coordination of military sports activities, the tricolor was presented. The flag was in fact presented to the athletes’ delegation of the Defense Paralympic Sports Group.
Luca Pancalli’s words to the athletes present at Rome Urbe Airport: “For us athletes, the flag represents the real symbol around which Italian sport is united, synonymous with everything that the tricolor represents. The Invictus Games mark the end of a wonderful summer for Italian sport, which points us towards the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and Paralympics; now we are waiting for yours. We don’t need medals, we need examples to make this country grow and each of you is an extraordinary example of life and sport.”
