“Cooperation between EU states and non-EU states is crucial” when it comes to the phenomenon of immigration. In press statements with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni presented the contents of a declaration of intent on the immigration front, which sets out “the legal and political framework” for the new cooperation. “It is a Europe-wide agreement. It shows that collaboration can be achieved on the front lines of migration management. Albania will give the opportunity to use some areas of Albanian territory with Italy, which will be able to set up centers for migrants,” the Prime Minister said.
