The Befana closes the Christmas holidays with a good tourist performance: according to calculations by Federalberghi, 6 million and 837 thousand Italians will travel, with a turnover of 1 billion and 345 million euros.
Even in these circumstances, only a small proportion will decide to travel abroad (2.9%), while 97.1% will stay in Italy and generally do not travel far from home and the region of their residence (64.7% ) or prefer a nearby region (21.2%).
However, the weather could influence holiday choices: in fact, 54.9% of those leaving could change their plans.
