The Uruguayan Football Federation has announced in a press release that “El Loco” Bielsa will be the new coach of the national team. The new coach has signed a contract until 2026. The Argentina coach, who has overseen his country’s and Chile’s selections in the past, had just returned from his experience on the Leeds bench. “El Loco” was previously a coach in Spain and France, at Athletic Bilbao, Marseille and Lille. The manager will take the place of Diego Alonso, who in turn took the place of Oscar Tabarez. Marcelo Bielsa will make his debut on the bench Heavenly in June and should be able to count on a team of five advisors who will arrive along with the coach added by the federation, two fitness coaches and a goalkeeping coach.
