The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, has just arrived at Palazzo Madama to take part in the initiatives planned to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the first session of the Senate (May 8, 1948). The President of the Senate, Ignazio La Russa, greeted the Head of State upon his arrival. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni had also entered the Palazzo Madama shortly before. At 11.30 a.m. in the Plenary Hall there will be the conference “The Senate in the History of Republican Italy” with Stefano Folli, Anna Finocchiaro, Ernesto Galli della Loggia and Giuseppe Parlato, followed by a live concert with Gianni Morandi Rai2-TV. Also present at the event in the Chamber will be the President of the Constitutional Court Silvana Sciarra, Vice-President of the Chamber Giorgio Mulè, the Speaker of the Knesset, Life Senators Liliana Segre and Mario Monti.
