Cities of art top the list of holiday destinations for the Easter weekend. Tourism in our country therefore starts from the places that remained closed during the pandemic and were most heavily penalized. The desire to move on and the longing for culture lead to over a million bookings for overnight stays. Of these, 400,000 were made by foreign tourists.
The data come from research carried out by the Centro Studi Turistici of Florence for Assoturismo Confesercenti.
Stunning numbers: In cities and arts hubs, bookings exceeded 76% of available accommodation. 36% of the inquiries come from foreign tourists, which have largely stayed away in the last two years. Numbers that bode well for the entire supply chain, when you think of museums, cultural and archaeological sites, tourist guides, gastronomy, from rental and transport services to commercial activities.
Art and culture overcame the uncertainty of the war in Ukraine and the still circulating Covid. The monuments, museums, galleries, areas and state archaeological parks remain open even during the Easter holidays. Special openings that allow all visitors to enjoy the artistic and cultural beauties of Italy. To find out places, times, prices and how to visit, you can consult the following page on the Ministry of Culture website: https://cultura.gov.it/pasqua2022.
Finally, it is worth remembering that from April 1, 2022, access to all State cultural sites will no longer require possession of either the Enhanced Green Passport or the Basic Passport, while the obligation to use surgical masks will remain. Some places can only be visited by reservation.
